PHILADELPHIA (October 4, 2021) – Playfly Sports, the nationally-scaled, Berwyn, Pa.-based sports marketing and media company, announced today the hiring of Kate McKinnon as its brand-new Head of HR. The company now boasts more than 350 employees across the United States and Canada as it enters its first fully staffed year.
McKinnon comes to Playfly with more than a decade of HR leadership experience, having worked in a variety of industries including healthcare, telecommunications, financial services, travel, non-profit, and consulting. Most recently, McKinnon served as the Chief People Officer with Fourlane.

In 2021, McKinnon’s work with Genesis Healthcare was the focus of a published study by The Case for Women and Emerald Publishing, “Using Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to Drive Outcomes at CareerStaff Unlimited.” The Kutztown University graduate also guest lectures at Temple University several times a year, teaching Organizational Change and Leadership Development, HR Metrics, and Introduction to Human Resources. Additionally, McKinnon received her Master of Leadership Development from Penn State. Upon graduation, she was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society and was awarded Penn State’s 2008-2009 Graduating Class Crocodile Enterprises Award for Leadership Development. She subsequently earned her PHR and SHRM-CP Certifications to enhance her expertise in Human Resources.
