UTSA, Playfly Sports Announce Multimedia Rights Agreement

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA and Playfly Sports, the emerging leader in sports marketing, media and technology, announced Tuesday a new multimedia rights (MMR) agreement. The deal will see Playfly serve as UTSA’s exclusive MMR holder and sponsorship sales arm effective Sept. 1, 2023.

“We are excited to announce this new partnership with Playfly,” said Lisa Campos, UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics. “As we enter the American Athletic Conference, this new partnership will enhance UTSA’s brand excellence and sponsorship opportunities locally, regionally and nationally, and that will ultimately help us continue to support our student-athletes. I’d like to thank LEONA for their assistance in brokering this partnership, which will heighten the future of UTSA Athletics.”

UTSA’s partnership with Playfly will leverage the company’s multimedia rights expertise and its expansive suite of marketing and media solutions to further grow the Roadrunners brand multi-dimensionally. Playfly Sports will target existing platforms and identify new opportunities for UTSA Athletics to expand its fanbase and corporate partners to engage fans. Playfly will manage all sponsorships for UTSA Athletics, along with making strategic capital investments to improve the overall experience for the corporate community and fans.

“Being tapped by Lisa and her leadership team to help further elevate the burgeoning UTSA brand is an honor for Playfly Sports Properties,” said Christy Hedgpeth, President of Playfly Sports Properties. “The vision and direction Lisa has set for UTSA Athletics is uniquely compelling, and we are energized to launch what will be a highly collaborative partnership.”

A host of other schools have recently selected Playfly Sports as their MMR partner including Nebraska, UCF, FAU and George Mason. Playfly’s long-standing partners include Auburn, LSU, Maryland, Michigan State, USC, Virginia among many others, as well as both the Pac-12 and the Big Ten Conferences.
