July 6, 2021 (PHILADELPHIA) – Playfly Sports has continued to add new personnel across all divisions to its growing staff, including leadership roles within its Playfly Sports Properties and Home Team Sports groups. Among those key hires include:
Lorie McCarthy
An advertising sales and broadcasting veteran, Lorie McCarthy joins the Playfly lineup as the head of advertising sales within the Home Team Sports New York City office. Bringing with her more than 20 years of experience at both Fox and Turner Sports, Lorie will serve as the Senior Vice President of Sales.
Jorge Perea & Zach Hoffman
In Playfly’s continued focus on the high school multimedia rights business, Jorge Perea and Zach Hoffman have been hired to serve as General Manager’s for the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) and Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA), respectively.
David Shoemaker & Layne Werner
Within Playfly Sports Properties, Playfly has recently added two well-seasoned team members to continue driving the collegiate multimedia rights business at both the division and individual property level. David Shoemaker and Layne Werner join the Playfly team as Group Vice President and LSU’s General Sales Manager, respectively.
Shoemaker, most recently the General Manager with Razorback Sports Properties at Arkansas, brings top level sports marketing experience and will oversee new business initiatives and growth opportunities with Auburn and Florida.
Werner joins the LSU Sports Properties team with an impressive scope of sports industry experience, including holding General Manager positions at Temple University, Drexel University and Manhattan College. Prior to her tenure in collegiate athletics, Werner also spent time in corporate partnerships and marketing with the LA Kiss and Pasadena Tournament of Roses. Werner will oversee LSU Sports Properties’ sales efforts.
Gordon Hunter
Gordon Hunter will serve as the new General Manager for ORU Sports Properties at Oral Roberts University after having served recently as a Director of Development at a private school and previous experience at Georgia Southern in several roles.
