BERWYN, PA. (April 26, 2023) – Playfly Sports, the emerging leader in sports marketing, media, and technology, announced the addition of Derek Chang to its Board of Directors. He is the current Executive Chairman of EverPass Media, a joint venture between RedBird Capital Partners and the NFL, and the former CEO of NBA China. As a veteran media, sports, and entertainment executive, Chang’s experience and vision will help Playfly Sports expand its global reach and potential, in addition to building new relationships across Playfly’s key segments.

As the CEO of NBA China, Chang was based in Beijing and spearheaded the NBA’s effort to expand its presence as the preeminent foreign sports league in the region. Before joining the NBA, Chang was the Head of International Lifestyle Channels at Scripps Networks Interactive, based first in Singapore and then in London. Before Scripps, Chang served as Executive Vice President of Content Strategy and Development at DIRECTV where he oversaw all content acquisition and production following senior executive positions with Charter Communications, the YES Network, and TCI Communications.
Chang currently serves on the Board of Directors of Liberty Media which owns interests in a range of businesses including Formula 1, the Atlanta Braves, SiriusXM, and Live Nation. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Starz, Vobile Group, ISOS Acquisition Corporation which merged with Bowlero in 2021 and the Professional Fighters League (PFL).
