Position Summary:
Playfly Sports is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to administer the procure to pay cycle for the company. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader responsible for managing day to day of an AP department with a strong process improvement mindset. Someone who is control-oriented, computer literate, well-organized, and self-motivated to perform all phases of its accounts payable function. This person is responsible for overseeing the entry and payment all vendor invoices. This person must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Responsibilities:
  • Review vendor invoices and supporting documentation for adherence to purchase orders, approval policies, and general ledger account coding
  • Process vendor payments (check/ACH/wire) and remittance advices
  • Contribute to and participate in the implementation of an automated P2P solution
  • Prepare and review aging reports
  • Maintain vendor records with proper supporting documentation
  • Research and resolve questions from vendors and internal customers
  • Prepare and file annual 1099 forms
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and analyses
  • Manage vendor related issues and escalations to provide and facilitate the appropriate steps for resolution
  • Manage, train and develop 3 direct reports
  • Assist with financial and tax audits
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
  • 5 years hands-on accounts payable and supervisory/management experience
  • A self-starter attitude and are willing to take initiative on completely new projects and drive them to completion successfully
  • Impeccable attention to detail paired with the ability to execute multiple priorities in a timely and communicative manner
  • Experience in 1099 filings and related requirements
  • Ability to produce accurate, timely and meticulous work product
  • Must have strong analytical skills; strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work cooperatively, effectively and diplomatically with all constituents
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, NetSuite experience preferred
